Overmoulding

Overmoulding of cores for cords and hooks

Overmoulding is an advanced manufacturing process that involves injecting a plastic material into a mould to cover a metal core (hook, ferret) or textile core (rigid or elastic cable, cord, strap).

This process enables to manufacture technical, high-performance products for a wide range of applications.

Overmoulding allows you to create versatile products. You combine the advantages of textiles (elasticity, wear resistance) with those of plastics (such as strength and durability).

In our factory based in Saint-Etienne, we have 5 manual and automatic over-moulding machines to meet a different needs.

Overmoulding is used in a wide range of industries, including automotive, rail and aeronautics.

Our teams work closely with our customers to develop innovative solutions tailored to each sector and application.

Manufacture of overmoulded strings

Eurosandow’s factories in France and Romania manufacture the boot lift cords, rear parcel shelf cords and parcel shelf travel-limiting cords fitted to many cars.

These cords are usually overmoulded to offer greater resistance to the products and give a high-quality aesthetic finish.

Manufacture of overmoulded hooks

Overmoulded plastic hooks can be manufactured to complete cables and bungee cords with diameters ranging from 2 to 40 mm.

This process is especially used to manufacture the FIX COVER bungee cord developed by our teams. For this product, the steel hooks is overmoulded in plastic. This prevent rust and allow us to create a long-lasting product. This bungee cord is mainly used for securing swimming pool covers and for light tie-downs.
