Manufacture of shock cord/bungees
The bungee cord is an elastic cable often composed of a rubber core and a textile sheath with various termination options (hook, toggle end, etc.).
The bungee cord meets different mechanical characteristics (srenght, elongation, resistance, etc.), making it suitable for various applications.
Ever since its creation, Eurosandow has perfected the art of manufacturing bungee cords for a range of applications.
Today, our factory is equipped with 150 braiding machines, which operate continuously to produce our range of bungee cords.
Braiding is commonly used to manufacture bungee cords. A core (natural latex, synthetic rubber, spandex, graphite, etc.) is covered with a textile through the precise rotation of spools of thread.
This technique allows us to produce bungee cords in various sizes, colours, and patterns (zebra, jacquard, rounded, with colour markers, squares, continuous lines, waves, etc.).
A mastered production process
Our bungee cords are manufactured in our factory in Saint-Etienne from high-quality materials, including natural latex and robust synthetic fibres.
These materials are carefully selected to ensure optimal durability and performance for the intended application.
We manufacture a wide range of shock cords and bungees in numerous colours with the following characteristics:
- Diameter: from 1.5 to 40 mm
- Cover: polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, cotton, polyamide, Kevlar, aramid, glass fibre, copper, Technora, etc.
- Core: Natural latex, Fulflex, elastane, EPDM elastomer, etc.
- End fittings: all types of hooks, overmoulding, crimping, other accessories, etc.
The technical characteristics are defined according to the end use of the product.
We then select the most suitable braiding machine for manufacturing the product (number of spindles).
The weft threads are wound onto the spool.
The textile spools and the rubber that forms the core of the bungee cord are then placed on the braiding machine.
The exit speed of the cable and the tension of the rubber are then adjusted to comply with the properties of the bungee cord defined during conception.
The strength and elongation capacity of the product is checked to ensure compliance with the specifications supplied by the client.

The FIX COVER®, developed by Eurosandow's R&D, is a technical bungee cord dedicated to fastening swimming pool covers.
Packaging
We produce bungee cords and turnbuckles for packaging and retail professionals. Bungee cords can be used to hold and secure products and packaging.
Sports and leisure
Eurosandow makes the bungee cords used on self-service Velib bicycles.
Classic bike tensioners and bungee cords for luggage racks are sold as accessories.
We also make bungee cords for the camping, to secure tents and plaids or to stretch tarpaulins.
